The Role of Natural Gas focus area is exploring opportunities to save and use natural gas in areas such as power generation, transportation and homes. Members are investigating ways to further the progress made to date in managing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in gas production. Initial focus has been on:

Energy efficiency
Through sharing methodologies and best practices for managing GHG emissions as well as exploring technologies for saving and using natural gas, initiative members are improving understanding of opportunities and barriers.
OGCI is planning to collaborate through joint projects with other organizations in order to undertake real and sustainable actions to manage emissions and enhance the role of natural gas in the near future.
